HISTORY OF ELECTRONIC LOCKING SYSTEMS BULKEY

Maybe each of you or your relatives have ever been a victim of theft from home. Experience is extremely uncomfortable and stress, and remain forever in the mind.
In 1996 and 1997 many thefts happened of friends and loved people around us. The most impressible incident was with our colleague, who was robbed for these two years four times - three times in the office and once at his home.
After the first theft, he was sure that he has taken very serious measures for next theft, as shift the usual door with armoured one with four locks. After some time, however, his calm was shattered again, they broken into his office again, but this time the door was cultural unlocked without injury to it, but with broken patron.
This showed that even with twenty-side lock, the problem will not be decided unless except the strength of the door, and the key must be highly secure. So colleague was convinced that if he puts case key he will never be more robbed. He swallowed the inconvenience of the amount of cash key - 10 cm / 2.5 cm (as half a mobile phone in length) and its weight. This was not a large problem in the winter since, as large clothing has quite pockets on it, but when a spring and summer especially become, the amount of cash key already becomes a problem.
For his enormous unfortunately, however, in the late summer of 1997, through effective technology of drilling in certain places, cash lock was unlocked and the office was again with no furniture. Unpleasant memories remained only for heavy bunch of keys and allegedly secure locks. His despair was complete. We started seriously discussing the problem and what can be done to resolve it. We drawn the conclusion that the lock must be independent of the key, because even the most secure lock, with a hole, used for started point and through it robbers can establishe easily right place for drilling a patron becomes superfluous.
The market offered only electromagnetic NASRESHTNITSI that are not enough reliable at methods of power to dismantle, as if enjoying the lock, which has terminals on the outside, like Ball, to again make it superfluous, since as place for drilling is still known. That led to our decision to design a lock, which is managed by electrical means, which pulls out and draws in sufficiently large prongs entering at least 15 - 20 mm in cash. Thus, this lock can be assembled randomly spot in the door and can not be understood her position, and at the same time prongs will provide security for high-power methods for defeating.
This was first designed electromechanical lock with servo management Bulkey. This lock had to be managed by well-coded electronic key.
After detailed review of the global market for electronic switches we stopped on iButton, manufactured by U.S. firm Dallas, which by all keys proved most wear resistance and wearable, while gave huge simplicity of use and extremely high reliability. A very important moment for the choice of this type of key was the fact that regardless of the simplicity of reading, it is extremely reliable in terms of that it has no part which can be damage and has a long life, as if someone intentionally affect on the reader, although it is damaged it can still read the key, but not open the door without him. We took and all measures the lock can not be unlocked through computer equipment - the code is 64 - bit, with 18 000000000000000000 combinations, as if you try three times with incorrectly keys, the system automatically block for 5 minutes. If someone decides to lists combinations of keys by a computer, it will take him about 4 000 years.
We have taken measures against any electrical effects too - electric shock wand, high voltage, constant tension and electromagnetic effects. So get a comfortable, extremely reliable and secure locking system.
To become independent of supply voltage (in those years often there was no power) we assured the system with autonomous power of the battery, and it worked on battery power for about 2 weeks in normal operation (10 - 15 entries and going out per day).
The system already exists, but no name. It came from the fact that the system is our development - bulgarian, and from there we logically invented the name "bulgarian key" which we abbreviated with British words Bul and Key - BulKey.
For the first time the system was basically tested in different conditions in our laboratories, then we have install the system on our doors and to friends and family and in this way we made real tests. The feedback was incredibly good and we arranged its batch production as well as the patenting of the system and the registration of trademark Bulkey.
In the month of February 1998 we showed the locking system Bulkey at the specialized exhibition for security equipment and protection “SECURITY”, Sofia. The interest in the system was huge and it helped the system to enter rapidly the market. The first reviews for the real benefit of the system were on time. Cases in which, because of the convenience and security of the system, users have stopped the using of standard mechanical locks (in view of the fact that because of the initially partial mistrust to the system, all clients have assembled a standard mechanical system together with Bylkey system). All rapidly make sure in convenience and security of the system Bulkey and stop to use mechanical switches.
At the second month customers called and said to us how they do not use mechanical locking system (it is constantly unlocked) and when come home and try to unlock the door, they find that the door is locked with the mechanical lock! The only explanation for this is that thieves are tried to unlock the door and instead to unlock the lock, they locked it, as they think that to unlock the door, had to turn the key (picklock) in the opposite direction, but even this the door did not unlocked again. In another case, thieves entered into home trough the balcony on the third floor, but because the fact that the locking system may be blocked from inside and can not be unlocked, the intruders are not exported anything from the apartment, because they had to do it trough the window. This case showed that the locking system Bulkey in combination with alarm, is the perfect protection for each apartment – when the siren of the alarm is on, the thieves are unable to go out through the door and will be forced to do it again trough the window. All this gave us the incentive for major development and new development of ever more secure, reliable and inexpensive systems. The only disadvantage of locking system Bulkey for Bulgarian market has proved its relatively high price, which has not been a problem for the foreign market. Our production capabilities were limited, and our systems have become mainly for export.
From then until now continuously improve systems and develop new models for different cases and situations. We carried out our production capacity with the construction of two new workshops - one for electronics and one for mechanics, got many new high-tech and high efficient machines, which allow us to increase production and reduce the proportion to the price as preserve the exclusive high quality and reliability of electronic locking systems Bulkey and it becomes acceptable and commensurate with wide spread mechanical locking systems, thereby satisfy needs and demands of the Bulgarian market.
