The Alarms Myths & Truths

MYTHS AND TRUTHS ABOUT THE ALARM

Often in our practice as producers and assemblers of security systems we have heard opinions from our clients that the alarm systems have not special role at protecting the car. Because of the mass supply of Chinese and other alarm systems inconsistent with modern technologies for disarming used by thieves and mostly because the low technical learning of the most “assemblers” we can not blame the mass user for these thoughts.
In fact neither the alarm system neither the insurance, the garage or secured parking can protect the car better than its owner who combines the advantages of each method mentioned above having in mind their disadvantages.
The advantages of the alarm system consist of the high signal which will be produced if a thief broke the car and this signal will attract people's attention.
Often the obvious marks which show an alarm system presence are enough the thief to prefer another car at the parking whose owner did not assemble such system. It is myth that thieves can disarm all kind of alarm systems for seconds. It is true for a big part of offered techniques but if you know methods for disarming security systems like using Code Grabber or electric shock stick the alarm can be designed in this way to stultify their usage.
For example in California there is an accepted law in 28.02.1996 which incriminates even Code grabber ownership.
The engine interlock has a big importance too. In practice if the car can not run its theft is almost impossible. It is myth that “if they decide they will come and lift the car”. In practice this method is hard realizable because this action takes up time and will attract the attention of many spectators and the last thing thieves want is to have eyewitnesses who can recognize them. Moreover if the alarm is with random code and its disarming is impossible this action will be accompanied with serious effect made by the sock sensor.
